What is WisBuild?
WisBuild is a Web based information system used for managing data related to State of
Wisconsin building projects. The WisBuild application is used primarily to manage active
DSF building projects, from design to completed construction. WisBuild is administered by
the Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA), Division of State Facilities (DSF).

Who uses WisBuild?
Essentially, all of the parties involved in the life cycle of a State building
project. This includes Architects, Engineers, Construction Contractors, State Agency
Representatives, and the various DSF Staff (Project Managers, Construction Reps,
Administrative Services).

Do I need a WisBuild user account?
Generally, you need a WisBuild username/password if you are currently
involved with an active state building project as either an AE, Contractor,
Agency Rep, or DSF Staff. You also need a Wisbuild account if you have been
asked to complete an AE Data Record in WisBuild (see AE section, FAQ) or wish to acquire construction plans and specifications.

Does WisBuild include any information related to bidding on upcoming
State building projects?
No, this information can be viewed at the DSF’s public Web site at: http://doa.wi.gov/constructionbidding. Note that to download plans and specifications you will need to enter your WisBuild login and password.

What transactions are processed through WisBuild?
The majority of all significant transactions related to managing a building project are
processed using WisBuild. This includes Requests for Information (RFI), Construction
Bulletins, Change Orders, and Payment Requests to name a few.

Do Sub Consultants or Subcontractors use WisBuild?
Yes, A/E Sub Consultants need to be registered with an A/E Data Record in WisBuild and they may receive a performance evaluation through WisBuild. However, Subcontractors do not need to be registered in WisBuild. Construction Contractors, Architects/Engineers, and Consultants with prime contracts with DSF interact with WisBuild system during the course of a project . A/E Sub Consultants and Subcontractors should communicate with the prime consultant/contractor for project interfacing.
